Meftal Forte tablet treats pain related to muscles, joints, headaches, migraine, back pain, body pain, sprain, strain, injury, post-operative pain, and dental pain. It contains a combination of mefenamic acid and paracetamol as its active ingredients and works by reducing the formation of certain chemicals that cause pain.
Meftal Forte tablet must be taken as directed by the doctor, in doses, and for a duration as prescribed. It should preferably be taken with or after having your meals. Take it regularly at a fixed time. Do not skip a dose or consume more than that recommended by the doctor.
Before starting this medication, please inform your doctor if you have a history of stomach ulcers, bleeding, high blood pressure, or any heart, kidney, or liver problems. Also, let your doctor know about all the other medications you are taking, as they may interact with this one.
The most common side effects of this medication include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, indigestion, loss of appetite, and heartburn. If you experience any of these or if they get worse, please see your doctor. Your doctor might give you advice on how to prevent or manage these side effects.
Pacimol MF, Naaptol tablet and Meftagesic tablet also contain paracetamol and mefenamic acid as their active ingredients.
Can I take Meftal Forte tablet during pregnancy?
Meftal Forte tablet should not be used in a pregnant woman as it can cause cardiovascular malformations in the growing foetus. It can also delay labour and can increase bleeding tendency in both mother and child if used during labour.
